The Three Sisters (Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos)
Name inspired by the three fates in Greek mythology, this trio was an award winner in the 2021 Festival of the Arts in Grand Rapids, MI. They won the West Michigan Potters Guild Award for Ceramics and the Frank and Madeleine Hunnes Award. They also took a center pedestal in the Aquinas College Alumni Homecoming Show in 2022.
Each piece is somewhere between 10 and 11 inches tall. They were thrown on the potters wheel and then painstakingly carved bit by bit. They look lovely displayed as is. Other display options include: placing a glass pillar vase inside with fresh flowers, fairy lights for subtle illumination, a large candle or light for brighter illumination and cast shadows, dried flowers.
The Sisters are available for $900 + shipping.

Large Banded Vase
This large vase was thrown on the potters wheel and then hand carved. The stripes themselves are slightly recessed into the body of the vase to add dimension to the overall form.
The deep green glaze has slight speckling due to elements in the clay itself. There is soft pink flashing in various places due to the somewhat chaotic nature of the firing process. It adds a special visual interest that makes viewing this piece from all angles quite satisfying.
The vase is $450 + shipping.
The vase is about 11 inches tall.
Large Bowl with Carved Rim
This large bowl was thrown on the potters wheel and then the rim was carved by hand to add a delicate detail. It was fired in a gas kiln which gives the glazes a lot more dimension and variation. The soft pink/red glaze turns to a dark ruby tone in different areas on the carved section but has a nice soft speckled look everywhere else. The glaze on the bottom is a blue so light it can be described as icy. There is a crack on the bottom of the bowl, you can see it in the photo gallery. The crack does not go all of the way through the piece, so it doesn’t effect the functionality of it, I simply like to be as transparent as possible about flaws in my work.
The bowl is $200 + shipping.
It is 6 inches tall and 12 inches wide at the rim.
Small Banded Vase
Just like its larger counterpart, this small vase was thrown on the potters wheel and then hand carved.
The vase is $200 + shipping.
The vase is about 6.5 inches tall.
